Event: 'Radical Sons, Jeff The Brotherhood, Cuban Missiles' Print
  Music
Date: Thursday, June 18, 2009 At 08:00 PM
Duration: 3 Hours 59 Minutes

(doors 9:15/show 9:30; $7/10 under 21)

Radical Sons | Bummed out by the meathead Midwestern emo kids and aging hippie wannabies which they found themselves surrounded by, St. Louis teens Nick Risler and Benjamin Goldstein became fast friends. Hanging at the Delmar Loop. Sneaking into the monthly Chuck Berry gigs at Blueberry Hill. Playing old Television and Velvet Underground records after school on their local underground radio station. You could call it their own quiet rebellion. But like so many of these stories go, it wasn’t long before the call to crank the volume overtook them. So Risler and Goldstein dutifully answered, picking up a couple guitars and enlisting the services of Geoffrey Phillips and Patrick Shields to fill out a rhythm section and bring Radical Sons to life. In summer 2008, the Sons unveiled a two-song single via RCRD LBL and the boys landed an invitation to perform in New York City at the annual CMJ Music Marathon.

Jeff the Brotherhood is getting a lot of hype right now on the big NYC music blogs, both members ex- Be Your Own Pet.

Cuban Missiles | So here’s the scoop. The new record is completely written. We’re still in the process of deciding on a title for it. The rough tracks for drums and bass are done. We are hoping for a fall release date. For now, we’ll be playing shows around town and beyond. We’ll be playing a good portion of the new songs at any upcoming shows we’re doing so we hope to see a lot of you that we haven’t seen in a while due to our reclusive songwriting.
